Gas Mileage?

Does anybody know of any tricks or mechanical things that can be done to a car to increase gas mileage? i have a 2001 ford escape and the gas mileage i get out of it is absolutely horendous, its like 15 mpg. any tips would be appreciated.|||If you drive on the interstate system lots you can save about 20% if you drive 55 instead of 80.Also make sure you don't carry any excess weight in the vehicle that's not needed for every 50 lbs of extra weight you loose 1mpg.You can also buy a vacuum operated mileage indicator that you mount near the dash with a hose that tee's into your vacuum system.|||I use a fuel treatment that works very well i gained about 3-4 mpg average in town and on the highway

|||I dont feel bad for people who drive SUVs, I hope your wallet is hurting, if you wanted to save money on gas you should have bought a toyota corolla or a hybrid.

|||Good tires, tuneups and oil changes . on time and consistantly|||check your driving habits and keep it tuned to the max,is all i can tell you.|||a 2001 escape should be getting 25-28 mpg highway.What method are you using to determine gas milage.If you are actually getting this .Get it checked out a the Dealer .Mass air could be dirty causing rich conditions.Also a tune up probably won,t hurt|||high voltage coil. perhaps 60.000 volts if one is available, 8.8mm spark plug wires, a air hog air filter. Headers, dual exhaust, cold air intake box, Better fuel, taller tires, driving habits, having someone go into your onboard computer and tweak it.|||here's a article on gas mileage that is interesting (I found it on ebay motors guides)
