What motorcycle gets the best gas mileage?

If I were wanting a small (say 125 to 250cc) motorbike, what would be one with excellent gas mileage. What mileage should I expect? I would be riding just on country roads to the local grocery store or pub. |||A few months ago, Cycle World magazine looked at this very question and put four 250cc bikes through their paces to find out. I don't remember all the models, but I do remember the winner. It was the utterly unremarkable Honda Nighthawk. My stack of magazines it too big to go through just now, but you can read the results of the shoot out online at:

I think the Honda puts out an anemic 16 ponies and is decidedly the least powerful. But, if mileage rather than performance is your concern, and you don't care that the bike is quite possibly every bit as ugly as it is frugal, then look no further. Personally, given the choice, I'd take the Ninja 250 as it good looking in the sports bike style, handles well, is extremely popular with racers at the track, and peters out at around sixty miles to a gallon as opposed to seventy-something. That's the kind of reckless fuel consumption I can live with.|||the less cc's there are, the more mpg you are gonna get

you could get 50- 60+ mpg for 150cc to 250cc
