I am just wondering what are some of the ways to improve gas mileage on a truck.|||do a complete tune-up like plugs and wires, check the air filter and make sure you have the right amount of air in the tires.|||Is the truck is stock height and have the factory size tires? If not put it back like it came from the factory. If it is stock you can make sure all tires have the proper amount of air in them, do a tune up on it if it needs it, check and replace air filter if needed, and drive the speed limit. That was the cheep stuff you can do but if you are willing to spend some money you can put a cat back exhaust on it, switch to a k %26amp; n or similar kind of cold air intake, and you could get a tuner for the computer. All those things should get you better fuel mileage. If you want to spend some big bucks you could swap in a diesel engine.|||Generally, there's not much you can do. However, here are a few things:
1. Get a Scangauge http://www.scangauge.com/ to monitor your driving.
2. Keep your tires inflated properly for the load you carry.
3. Accelerate and brake as slowly as possible. Don't rush up to the stop light and then brake.
4. Make sure that the engine is tuned up properly.
5. Get a second car, such as a used Prius, and only use the truck when you absolutely need to.
