Out of all the SUVs which gets the best gas mileage?

Gas mileage is important to me, but i don't want it to be the deciding factor. I want to get a car that fits my life-style and that i will like. I gravitate more towards trucks and SUVs so i'm willing to pay more for gas as long as it's not a huge diffrence.

These are the cars that i have in mind, tell me which is better and gets better gas mileage.

96-97 Jeep grand cherokee

96 Toyota 4runner

95 Toyota Pick-up (with large wheels)

I also want to know what SUV gets the best gas ,mileage

Thanks for being patient with me and answering all my questions about cars...i know you guys are probably getting sick of me...but i really need your advice and help cus i don't know anything about this.Out of all the SUVs which gets the best gas mileage?
Foprd Escape Hybrid!
Probably the Toyata Truck. Less weight. SUV- Toyota Hybrid.Out of all the SUVs which gets the best gas mileage?
wow

why do you want suv?

toyota trucks last forever as long as you

get the 22re motor!
Toyota will have the better mileage, but not the best. You are looking at 10 yo car with at least 100K miles. It will have problems for sure. Why do you want to get used SUV knowing up front that it will have problems? If you want to save on gas, buy Ford Escape Hybrid - it is the best SUV that is a gas saver.

Good luck!Out of all the SUVs which gets the best gas mileage?
do not get a jeep grand cherokee....i have the exact year that you are talking about and i get 10 mpg city and 15 hwy.....needless to say it is sitting in the driveway and i am driving my hubbys toyota pickup.....toyota's get good gas mileage but honda's are always the best......good luck
Just go to the websites and look it up.

You could also go to edmunds if you don't want to go to the Toyota and Jeep website.
The SUV with the best gas-only mileage is the Toyota RAV4, which gets 24 mpg city and 30 highway. The cars you mentioned will vary depending on engine size, but the best-case scenario for each (4-cylinder engine, 2-wheel drive) is 22/25 for a '95 Tacoma, 20/24 for the '96 4-Runner, and 15/21 for the '96 Grand Cherokee. There are a couple of SUV hybrids 鈥?a Highlander from Toyota with 33 city, 28 highway; the Escape from Ford with 36 city, 31 highway.

But, if I may be so bold, might I recommend a couple of spunky little 5-door hatchbacks which, in my view, offer just as much cargo flexibility as the largest SUVs: the Honda Fit and Scion xA, which get 31 city and 38 highway. The Scion xB is a little larger and also does well with 30 mpg city and 34 highway. I also forgot to mention the Pontiac Vibe/Toyota Matrix, which gets 28 city and 34 highway. It's closer to full size, so it just might be what you're looking for. Good luck!
