Gas Mileage?

How do you know if a car has good gas mileage? if it doesn't tell you.Gas Mileage?
The key to the mileage question in your carmax data is the 'EPA 20/28" line. That means that this vehicle gets 20 miles per gallon (mpg) of gasoline when city driving and 28 mpg when highway driving. That does not mean that you will get that mileage, it means that this vehicle acheived that when it was tested by the EPA (environmental protection agency). They rate a sample of every vehicle, in each of its engine platforms, by testing them on a dynomometer. The dynomometer is set up the same for every vehicle tested. For city driving, all tested vehicles achieve about 24 mph average and for highway they only achieve 45 mph average. Most people do not drive these low speeds but it is still a usefull number for consumers. Even though other factors have an impact on fuel efficiency (that is another way to describe mileage) the numbers are relevant because all cars have been tested on the same dynomometer settings. So if one car is rated, let's say at 20/28, and another is rated 33/45, then the one with the higher rating has been determined to travel further on a gallon of gas than the one that is rated lower. A higher EPA number means better fuel efficiency.
In general, this site should give you some info about which kinds of cars get better gas mileage:

Other than that, you'll just have to see for yourself--paying attention to how many miles you go per tank (half a tank, quarter of a tank...whatever) of gas, and how many gallons your gas tank holds:

Miles/(1, 1/2, 1/4)tank * (1, 1/2, 1/4)tank/however many gallons your tank holds = Miles/gallon

Good luck!Gas Mileage?
it says that you should get 20 in town and 28 on the hiway
the part where it says EPA mileage,,is telling you the estimated miles per gallon,,and the rest of it is just telling you some of the specs on the car,,there numbers don't mean much though because there usually off y 20%,,or more,,actual mileage will be different for each vehicle,,they just use this as a guide to start with,,they actually test hem,,but even there results are not that accurate,,i hope this help,s.Gas Mileage?
2.7L Engine : engine size

2 Door : number of doors obviously

2WD : 2 wheel drive. car is mainly ran by the two front wheels to get it going

Automatic :: transmission..easiest to drive!

EPA Mileage 20/28 : gas mileage 20MPG city 28MPG highway..these arenot always correct.

6 Cylinders : number of cylinders the motor has..

200 Horsepower@5800 : your hp @ highest RPM(revolutions per minute....basically how your tranny shifts)

190 Torque@4850 : your torque @ highest RPM

Gas: fuel type
In short your car has bad mileage in today standard.

It is nothing bad it just the way the car was design.

Your EPA mileage is 20 mpg in the city driving and 28 mpg on the freeway. compare to a 2006 civic with 28/40mpg. Don't worry too much there are cars that did even worst mileage than your car. Last point, the EPA mileagee is very misleading, those number was calculated in a lab so they come out a little high, in real life the number is a lot lower, it all in the way you drive.
the 28/20 is highway to city miles per gallon and thats not to bad of gas mileage...considering i get like 14 mpg

you also have 200 horsepower so basically that little car has a little bit of balls
THOSE ARE ALL SPECIFICATIONS OF THE MOTOR AND TRANSMISSION. YOU FIGURE YOUR GAS MILEAGE BY DIVIDING THE MILES RAN BY THE AMOUNT OF GAS YOU PUT IN YOUR VEHICLE.
"2.7L Engine

2 Door

2WD

Automatic

EPA Mileage 20/28

6 Cylinders

200 Horsepower@5800

190 Torque@4850

Gas"

Lets start with 2WD that means Two wheel drive

2.7lL engine means that the engine displacement is 2.7 liters

2 door means it has thats right Two doors

It has an Automatic Transmission and it is has 6 pistions in the engine, It will turn out 200 horsepower at 5800 rpms( Horsepower

is the unit of measure to rate the power of an engine one horspower = one horse) thus 200 Hp=200 horses at 5800

RPMs (revolutions per minute). And At 4800rpms will generate 190 foot lbs of torque at the drive wheels. And Lastly EPA 20/28

EPaA Stands for Enviroment Protection Agency has rated that this Car wiil get 20 mile to the gallon in City driving and 28 miles per gallon on the Highway.
See where it says EPA mileage? That's the mileage.
