What modifications can i do to increase the gas mileage on my 1999 ford explorer?

I'm a teenager who has to pay for his own gas and i was wondering if there are any modifications i can invest in to my car to increase gas mileage and also get me a little more power. gas though is my number one priority. What modifications can i do to increase the gas mileage on my 1999 ford explorer?
inflate tire to the maximum, change driving habits, take off slow and drive with eyes 1000 feet up the road to anticipate stop lights and traffic, left off gas early, thats the key to better mileage.... did you know that when you are coasting at 30 mph you are getting 50 mpg, and at 60 it goes up to 100 mpg. What modifications can i do to increase the gas mileage on my 1999 ford explorer?
regular maintenance is the key..make sure that you are doing all your oil changes on time ..change the plugs..changing the air filter can help as well..over inflating tires is a double edged sword..the max psi on the side of the tire is for loading purposes..over inflating will wear the center of the tire out quicker..

reduced idling time can help out as well,,What modifications can i do to increase the gas mileage on my 1999 ford explorer?
First if you do mainly intown driving, inflate tires to 40PSI Do not fill them more than that. Then consider getting a cold air intake. Next consider a catback exhaust system (if you don't mind a rumble kind of exhaust) you may want to consider a 40series flowmaster exhaust. Next if you can afford it get a computer tuner. Get some good spark plugs and wires. Make sure you use 5W30 Synthetic Oil. If you can change your differential and transmission fluids all to Synthetic fluids. All those things will make a difference. Good Luck!
