What would you consider to be good gas mileage?

Would you consider 20 miles to the gal to be acceptable (Combined city and highway), or do you have higher standards?

Also, what do you drive and what gas mileage does it get? are you pleased with this and would you condsider buying another model ?|||I would say that 20 mpg is about middle-of-the-road. Most people who are mileage-conscious would consider anything higher than 20 as pretty good (unless you're in a car that is supposed to get 35). Anything lower than 20 would be considered not-so-great (unless you're in a car that is supposed to get only 10).|||My standards are 40/gallon which I know is very high. I would suggest looking at a smart car, they are coming to the US next year and start at I believe 13,000 new or something like that.|||MPG depends on what you drive. The heavier the car (and larger the engine) the worse the mileage. I would love to get 20mpg. A hybrid will get 40-50 mpg.

I drive a 2005 Chevy pick up 14.2 average mpg. My 95 Chevy gets 8 mpg. My 2007 Harley Davidson Road Glide gets 30 mpg, and that is a motorcycle!|||26/27 and higher|||20mpg!?

My H-reg* peugeot gets 45mpg. Anything less than 40mpg is not even worth thinking about, you'll be doing bloody well to find a new car that does less than 40mpg.

Granted, there is a difference between the imperial gallon and US gallon, but it can't be that much!
