What is the gas mileage for an engine with over 600 horsepower?

I have a 1969 dodge charger and i am thinking about buying a new 540 chevy stroker engine with over 600 horsepower and 750 ft. torque. I was wondering if anyone had this engine or a similar one and could tell me the approx. gas mileage they get. thank you.|||probably 4-8 miles per gallon.|||Fuel economy depends on a LOT of factors. There is air resistance the car has to push through, how low or tall the final drive ratio is, different fuel systems will change how well the fuel atomizes, which affects mileage. The vehicle's weight is also a factor. But to give you an example, the new Corvette ZR1's have 630 hp at the rear wheels, and get 31 mpg.

The other responders are likely correctly guessing what kind of mileage you will get.|||right at 600 HP chevy 355 in a 3300 lbs camaro with th-400 trans, 3500 stall, ford 9" with 3.89 gears, 28" x 11" rear tires

Gets 7 to 7.5 mpg city on pump 93 octane fuel and 11 mpg highway|||The best 5 miles per gallon you'll ever experience.

I failed to mention you'll probably need a transmission upgrade to support that level of torque.|||low, very low.

i wouldnt expect more then 5mpg in the city and depending on your gearing, not much over 12mpg on the highway.|||guessing 12-15|||u wouldnt be worrying about gas milage in that,, but i want a ride when u get the engine dropped,,
