Could a car get better gas mileage if a couple of the fuel injecters were disconected?

Delivering newspapers is killing my gas mileage... a ton of stop and go at low speeds... not worried about the check engine light or performance just flat out gas mileage... could it potentially get better mileage that way even though it would run horribly?|||You could try it and see, or put a block under the gas pedal..|||No.U can not run the engine, since the firing order of the injectors are not designed to finish one full circle of firing in absence of two injectors.4 jobs are to be done in order, inside the cylinder to make the engine rotate continuously. They r 1]suction 2] compression 3] firing 4] exhaust.

If u stop the functions of 2 injectors, those cylinders are kept idle, and hence the order of firing is not getting completed.

But if u try to design a 2 stroke engine and fix, u will get good mileage but less power of pulling.|||It would run like absolute crap. The engine would stumble, set off lots of codes, and trigger the check engine light.

The best thing you can do is just keep the vehicle maintained and drive it lightly. If you're delivering a lot of papers in a small area, shut off the engine and walk between the delivery locations rather than driving to each one.|||No, it would run like crap, send all sorts of codes and possibly damage your cat. The lack of power will only cause you to consume more not less fuel. Get a smaller vehicle. What are you currently using?
