Gas mileage?

If my car gets 33 mpg and gas is $3.00 per gallon and I am traveling 1310 miles, how much would gas cost?Gas mileage?
approx. $120.00Gas mileage?
$120.00Gas mileage?
$119.10 for 1310 miles
around $120, but I'd be safe and have a bit more than that in case you come across a gas station asking more than $3. Here in AK the gas is close to $3.30. pretty bad....

i've heard that if you add acetone (paint thinner) to your tank 3 ounces to 10 gallons it will improve your mileage up to 6 - 8 mpg gasoline or deisel engines has any tried this or know if it worksGas mileage?
That is rediculous. It may clean up carbon deposits in your fuel system. It also may eat the seals in your fuel system. Don't put anything in your fuel if it isn't found in the automotive section of a store. If you want to improve your fuel mileage, I have some helpful hints. Driving habits will improve fuel mileage, but I hate granny drivers so here are some better alternatives.

Use a good fuel system cleaner. Two I suggest are Berryman's B12 Chemtool, and Seafoam. These will get you pretty quick results if you run it every couple or three tanks. With fuel prices as they are, all fuel stations are getting generic fuel, and it is not a very good quality fuel. So you need to regularly run some treatment in your fuel. Stay away from STP and like brands, they are too diluted to be effective. Rule of thumb, if it doesn't smell strong, it isn't. Except for Lucas. Lucas has a mild scent, but it works great in deisel engines.Gas mileage?
dream on it won't help.Gas mileage?
Never heard of it. But I'd be inclined to disbelieve it. It may have harmful effects on plastic parts in your fuel system. Wouldn't recommend trying it unless you have a car you don't care about.
home made fuel additives rarely work and are often harmful to your engine. I use a product called BG44K that cleans out my fuel system and gives me 3-4 extra miles per gallon but I can only use it once in a while or it will burn out my gaskets like the acetone probably would.

my daughter might be getting a 2000 Toyota 4runner. What would be a good mileage to look for? How much can those things take?Gas mileage?
I just sold my 2004. I loved it and miss it but don't miss the gas mileage (my main reason to change vehicles).

Most of my driving is done in town with some highway driving. I'm not sure if all of them have it but the 2004 had a thing that told you exactly how many miles per gallon you were getting and I used to reset it every time I refueled. 90% of the time I averaged 15.9-16.3 mpg. We did drive it 2000 miles on the highway and got 21, that was the best I ever saw. It always took me $50-$60 to fill it up and that lasted me about a week (to go from home to daycare to work and back).
With reasonable driving, you can expect 20 mpg +. My '04 4Runner with 4.0LV6 gives me 21 average city/hwy.Gas mileage?
not sure because i have Toyota with 8 cylinders and it takes a lot of gas
100,000 miles IS NOT a long time by todays standerds....my GM cars have all gotten over 300,000 miles with no troubles !!! check this link http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;鈥?/a>Gas mileage?
16 mpg city - 23 hwy
If you're asking how long Toyotas last...a long time. I just passed 100,000 and mine is doing great. I hear stories of them lasting past 200,000 miles and in 1 case 1,000,000 miles. Along the way you'll probably have to get a new transmission and a few other repairs though. It pretty much depends on how much you want to spend..I would probably look for one with under 100,000 or close to it and you'll probably end up spending around 11,000.

Gas mileage?

I had my small pickup's engine completely cleaned, new filters, radiator flush, cleaned fuel injectors, etc. For a few weeks I did my normal routine of driving to work and was getting great mileage. Then I drove it on a 4 day trip of about 700 miles and have noticed a bit of difference in my mileage after I got home. I get about 280 miles on a full tank now. Before the trip I got about 315 miles to a full tank. What could cause this change? tire pressure (I have not checked my tires since I returned)?Gas mileage?
I am just throwing this out there. I noticed that once when i drove from florida to denver, when I got to denver I stayed for about 2 weeks. My gas milage went down as well.

This comes from a runners point of view and what i kinda know about cars so please don't chastise me if i am wrong. it kinda makes sense (if there is an elevation change) that maybe the computer compensated for a lower o2 consentration/vice versa and is now running a bit more rich because it thinks its still in the same situation.

It couldn't hurt anyway (even if I am way off) to check the pressure in your tires and to take off the battery lead and leave it off for at least 30 minutes. After doing this it will reset the computer and do self checks etc... It couldn't hurt to try it.

I have no idea if any of that would affect anything but in my mind its def. a possibility.Gas mileage?
need to know your location-california has formulated fuels that has poor volitility-arizona on the other hand has better fuel and you will get better mileage-high density cities ususally have this poorer performing fuel.Gas mileage?
could be tire p.s.i. or a change in drivers or driving condition's did you run your AC , traffic lights, hills, rain exc-exc
Try useing a better grade of fuel....sometimes the gas you get from stations like Arco don't seem to get the better mileage...try a tank of Chevron or the like

Gas mileage??

what is the gas mileage of a 1995 chevy s10 pickup regular cab?Gas mileage??
Fuel mileage depends on the driver, the engine size, type fuel and driving conditions. Obviously if you are always in stop and go traffic the mileage will be alot less than on the highway. Higher grade fuels do not always increase fuel mileage. Ethanol reduces fuel milage. Premium fuel sometimes contains ethanol. The average highway mileage is around 18 mpg (at best) on the S-10 Chevy and S-15 GMC 4.3L V6. Heavy accelleration, uphill grades, city traffic all increase fuel consumption. Maintain the vehicle, if it does not run correctly the fuel CONSUMPTION will increase. If the Service Engine Soon light comes on , which indicates a malfunction in the fuel and emission control systems, the fuel consumption will increase. Keep tire inflation at the maximum for the tires but remember, the more you inflate the tires the less footprint on the ground,For safety , do not over-inflate the tires. low tire pressure increases consumption. Under inflation will cause the tire to overheat and could cause tire failure. Alignment, the vehicle's wheel alignment can affect fuel mileage. Anything creating more drag on the vehicle will negatively affect fuel mileage.Gas mileage??
it sucksGas mileage??
It is all according to how someone has kept up the vehicle. Always tuned up properly, oil changes and also, where it is driven (city or highway). Too many factors to really get it down to a certain mileage.

Would you get better gas mileage if you put a higher grade of gasoline in your car?Gas mileage.?
    no
    No, you sure wouldn't.

Your car won't go any faster if you put ZR-rated tires on it, either. And your computer won't go any faster if you put RAM DIMMs in it that are faster than spec.

All it'll do is waste your money.Gas mileage.?
Not if your car was made to run on regular gas. The only advantage of a higher grade of gas is that it reduces knocks (pinging). If you don't have a problem with knocking and you put higher grade gas in your car you're just wasting the money.

In fact modern cars with computer-controlled ignition and fuel injection won't knock whatever you do! The computer senses the knocking and changes ignition timing to prevent it. So if the car is made to run on premium gas, regular gas will work, but you won't get as much mileage because the later spark is less efficient.
No. Higher octane rating gasoline is only to reduce engine knocking. If your engine isn't designed for it, you'd just be wasting your money.Gas mileage.?
    no

which automobiles get the best gas mileage??Gas mileage?
Toyota Prius, but you can get better gas mileage in any vehicle if you learn how to ease up on the gas.Gas mileage?
All cars get better gas mileage with the addition of the gasoline additive, Ethos FR. This new fuel reformulator that was just released to the US public a few weeks ago after being tied up in govt. regulations for 10 years. You add a small amount of this formula to your gas tank every time that you buy gas. It increases your gas mileage by 7% to 19%. If you do the math, any mileage increase over 4% saves money in your pocket. It also makes older cars run better. The stuff has been tested by FOX News and NBC News affiliates. Check it out at http://www.saveongasoline.biz . Make sure you click on the MOVIES Tab to see the news reports. You can also get paid for sharing this news with others. Use the money that you make to buy a new hybrid car. Got more questions? boatclub@go.com Subject: = save gas
